(English) Happy Sami National Day!
Winter Itinerary Proposal for 3 nights / 4 days
Day 1 Arrival
Arrival at Ivalo airport,
A coach will be you for your transfer to Kakslauttanen , this drive takes about 40 minutes.
When you get there you will check in to a cozy small log in cabin. If you want you can get help with your luggage to the cabin. We advise you to rent some winter clothes to keep you warm in this snowy landscape. For the Safaris we provide thermal clothing. This afternoon is the perfect time to take a walk to get acquainted in the area.
Day 2 Reindeer Safari and Aurora Borealis hunting
After breakfast we recommend a reindeer safari! A great experience for you. Learn why these animals are so important in the Sami culture. Spend your afternoon with some classic winter activities, rent ski gear or snowshoes that both will take you out to explore the nearby woods. In the evening, why not take the opportunity to catch the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. Special tours will be arranged.
Day 3 Husky Safari, Visit to Santa Clause, Snowmobile tour and Igloo overnight
Get a prefect start to your day, after breakfast you have the chance to go for a thrilling husky safari. This is really close to nature. The safari last 2- 2,5 hours and there will also be some time to stop for some hot drinks. Once back at the resort you have time to eat some lunch. Later, we recommend you to visit Santa Claus cottage. The man in red welcomes you and will gladly show you his workshop on tuesdays and fridays!
If time allows, why not go on a snow mobile tour in the beautiful surroundings!
Before night falls, check in to your own glass or ice igloo – this is really a unique experience.
If you are a bit lucky, you might be able to lie in your bed while you observe the Northern Lights dance in the sky above you.
Day 4 Departure
Now, it is time to check out and continue your further adventures in Scandinavia. A car or coach will arrange your transfer back to Ivalo airport.
