Bergen is the gateway to the fjords, and this coastal town has been designated one of the European cities of Culture. Bergen is the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg.
Main attractions of the city are Bryggen, the fish market and Mt Floyen. Bergen is the starting point for Hurtigruten, the Coastal Express Voyage.
