Day 1, Helsinki

Arrive in Helsinki by flight, taxi transfer to hotel.

Day 2, Helsinki - Stockholm

Breakfast served at your hotel.

Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a modern and culturally progressive city. It is unique among Northern European cities with its mixture of cultural influences from both East and West.
You will get the chance to see some of the most important sites of Helsinki by taking a city sightseeing audio tour by bus. The tour will take you to see the Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, the Parliament Building and the Olympic Stadium. Stops are also made at the Sibelius Monument and at the Temppeliaukio Rock Church.

In the afternoon, transfer from hotel to pier by own arrangements, here you will board for an overnight cruise to Stockholm.

A dinner buffet with drinks will be served on board. After dinner you can dance the night away in a nightclub, linger in the various shops, or simply enjoy the scenery.

Day 3, Stockholm

Breakfast served on board.

Arrive in Stockholm in the morning.  With 24 000 islands, the Stockholm archipelago is quite unique. The views before the cruise ship enters the capital are beyond comparison.

Transfer to hotel in Stockholm under own arrangements. After settling into your hotel it is time to discover the city. Depart for a city-sightseeing tour in Stockholm, the city that often is called “Beauty on Water”, being built on 14 islands. Audio guiding in various languages is available. Take a look at the City Hall, constructed in National Romantic style. This is where the famous Nobel price banquette takes place each year on December 10th. Tour will also take you to see the Old Town, which is in direct contrast with today’s modern city centre.

The tour ends in the city centre and you have the afternoon to discover Stockholm on your own. Day 4, Stockholm

Breakfast served at your hotel.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to discover Stockholm on your own.

We recommend you to visit the Vasa Ship museum to see the warship Vasa – the only remaining, intact 17th century ship in the world. A five minute walk away you find Skansen, the famous open-air museum on the island of Djurgården. This is also a perfect day to take an archipelago boat trip. Entrances and tours can be booked with Scandinavian Perspectives.

In the evening, take the opportunity to visit Absolut Ice bar, here is the temperature a freezing -5 degrees all year round and everything is made of ice.

Day 5, Stockholm - Oslo

Breakfast served at your hotel.

Check out and transfer to the train station by own arrangements.

Transfer to Oslo by train. Observe how the landscape changes outside your window. The journey takes about 6 hours and you arrive in Oslo in late afternoon.

Transfer by bus or taxi to hotel, arranged by yourself. After checking in you will join a sightseeing tour by bus including the famous Vigeland Sculpture Park, city centre and the Olympic ski jump Holmenkollen.

In the evening we suggest you to enjoy the water front at Aker Brygge and see the famous Akerhus Fortress. At Aker Brygge there are lots of good restaurants serving local food such as fresh Norwegian salmon.

Day 6, Oslo - Geilo

Breakfast served at your hotel.

Check out and transfer to train station under own arrangements. Your Norwegian in a Nutshell tour starts with train from Oslo to Geilo, departing at 08.11 from Oslo train station.

You will arrive in Geilo, a mountain village halfway between Oslo and Bergen, in the afternoon. The village is known for good skiing during winter, and hiking, cycling and fishing during summer.

The hotel is within short walking distance from train station.

Day 7, Geilo - Flåm - Bergen

Have breakfast at your hotel.

Transfer by own arrangements to train station.

Continue the train journey from Geilo to Myrdal. Change to the beautiful Flåmsbanen train in Myrdal, taking you to Flåm. Flåm is situated in the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the 204 kilometres long and up to 1308 metres deep Sognefjord. In Flåm you will walk to the pier to join a fjord cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen.

From Gudvangen the Norway in Nutshell tour continues by bus and train to Bergen.

Arrive in Bergen in the evening. Transfer to your hotel by own arrangements.

Day 8, Bergen - Oslo

Breakfast served at your hotel.

In the morning, take the very special sightseeing train around this idyllic town. This is a perfect way to discover the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled pack houses, the old Hanseatic Quarter and much more. 
This train ride is only available until September. For winter groups we recommend 
the funicular to Mt. Fløien for panoramic views of the city and fjords way below.

For lunch you can visit the picturesque fish market, a perfect place to try some delicious seafood.

After lunch you will take a train back to Oslo.

Day 9, Oslo - Copenhagen

Breakfast served at your hotel.

Today we recommend you to visit National Museum, here you can see true masterpieces by Edward Munch among others great artists.

If you want to stay outdoors maybe a sightseeing cruise with prawn buffet will suit you better? Karl Johan Street is the classic stroll for some shopping or to enjoy the street performances that are usually there during summer time.

Transfer to pier in the afternoon by own arrangements and check in to take the DFDS overnight cruise to Copenhagen. A Scandinavian buffet with drinks will be served on board. After dinner you can enjoy the entertainment facilities onboard - the cruise ferries offer a fantastic range of activities for both kids and adults.

Day 10, Copenhagen

Breakfast served on board.

Arrive in Copenhagen in the morning. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and famous for the shopping street Ströget, a rich café life and the Little Mermaid statue. Many famous Danish brands also have their flagship stores in Copenhagen.

Transfer to hotel by own arrangements.

After checking in you will join a sightseeing tour by bus which will give you a good introduction to wonderful Copenhagen.

In the evening we recommend you to visit Tivoli Garden which is an oasis right in the city centre, this amusement park attracts more than four million visitors each year. It has wonderful gardens, restaurants and rides. You can also visit the Copenhagen Ice bar.

Day 11, Copenhagen  - departure

After breakfast it’s time to leave Scandinavia for now, hopefully you will have a lot of great memories to bring back home.

A pre-booked taxi will take you from your hotel to the airport.
