The statue of the famous Little Mermaid returned home safely after participating in the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. She was placed back on her perch in the Copenhagen harbour on 20 November after her first-ever journey abroad.
The 1.5-meter bronze statue is Copenhagen’s most famous landmark. In April she left home to become the centerpiece of the Danish pavillion at the Expo, which successfully attracted 5,5 million visitors.
